Interviews and Published Statements

  • Manny Rutinel | The Campaign for Colorado 8th Congressional District · The Exchange

Podcast interview · The Exchange (podcast, host Ruby Jones) Excerpts from GOTV Intel's transcription: [05:11] “Yeah. So, uh, in my first year as a state legislator, I was able to get over 13 of my bills passed into law. And that's because not only do I work really hard, but I know how to work with others.” [05:31] “And one of the bills, um, that I think represents a lot of my political philosophy that I'll mention is, um, in my first legislative session, I expanded the Earned Income Tax Credit in Colorado to make it the most generous in the entire country.” [06:03] “And that, to me, is a very clear indicator that poverty is a policy choice, that if we just decided to eradicate poverty, we could.” [13:43] “You know, when I when I talk about the affordability crisis, I'm not talking about it because I read it in some white paper. I'm talking about it because I lived it firsthand.”
