“Nevadans deserve to know results as close to election night as possible.”
“The systems used in 2020 and 2022 no longer exist. We have substantially upgraded them. We implemented the Voter Registration Election Management System — a top-down process. The 17 counties used to have their own systems, their own processes. Some of those systems were no longer supported by a vendor, which put the state at huge risk.”
“First, it's a violation of state law. Second, when Nevadans decided to register to vote with the state of Nevada, they agreed to give that information to the state and the secretary of state's office or their local county. They did not agree to give it to a third party or the federal government. And it is a data privacy issue. It is critical we do everything we can to maintain the safety and security of private personal information of Nevadans.”
