In Their Words
What they have said, on the record
“The first thing I would do, and this is already going through Congress, is to make sure private equity can't purchase single equity or low income homes. The second thing I would do, and I've already got this all planned out, is called the Home Ownership Initiative, where we take distressed buildings in the inner city, and we convert them into condominiums using local contractors who need the business, and we go to a home ownership first model. So the people who are getting housing assistance and people who qualify, such as working low income families, can have a boost towards building generational wealth. And we also help to revitalize the downtown while we're doing it.”
“I think we have sick care, not healthcare. And I want to put the health back into the healthcare. We spend $450 billion, or one out of every four healthcare dollars on treatment of diabetes, which is largely preventable, but yet I can't refer a patient to nutrition counseling until they actually have the disease.”
