In Their Words
What they have said, on the record
“House District 19 spans diverse communities, from the rural agricultural areas of Weld County to the Boulder County portions, including parts of Erie and east Longmont. These regions often hold differing views on development, energy, and local priorities, which makes listening essential. I am committed to representing every resident through open communication and town halls across the district. I have supported multiple sources of energy production to ensure reliable, affordable power for all. Notably, I backed legislation allowing residents to install portable solar on their homes, giving families more energy choices while respecting property rights. I also supported the Sundance Film Festival's presence in Boulder for its cultural and economic benefits. Effective representation means bridging divides through dialogue, finding common-sense solutions, and ensuring rural voices are heard just as loudly as those in more urban areas.”
“The number 1 issue facing Colorado is the crushing cost of living. Skyrocketing housing prices, high energy bills, and everyday expenses are driving families and businesses out of our state. In fact, Denver leads large cities in commercial real estate vacancy rates. As a small business owner, I've seen how government mandates and regulations drive up costs passed on to consumers. I have actively supported measures to lower the cost of living, including efforts to repeal unnecessary delivery fees that burden families. I ran a bill to provide tenants with a tax credit to ease rental burdens and voted against mandates on businesses that artificially inflate prices. To address this, we must reduce regulatory burdens, cut wasteful spending, promote pro-growth policies, and increase housing supply through responsible development. By focusing on fiscal responsibility, we can make Colorado more affordable again.”
“Politicians like to pretend that we can't have both affordable and clean energy, but it's simply not true. As your State Representative, I worked across the aisle to expand the usage of green hydrogen fuel(HB22-1140) and to allow Coloradans the right to use clean natural gas and propane(HB21-1034). Heating our homes and protecting our environment are not mutually exclusive.”
“I have and will continue to be a staunch defender of TABOR because I believe that the money you earn is better spent and saved by you, not me.”
“It is my highest priority to work towards bringing down the costs of living for Coloradans struggling to make ends meet, and that begins with ensuring that our state government is both allowing you to keep the maximum amount of money you earn alongside ensuring that the government stays out of your way.”
